Recommended Download: Firefox Web Browser

The Firefox web browser is an excellent tool for doing internet research because of its "tabbed browsing", built-in search engines (e.g. Wikipedia, Google, and Dictionary.com), and pop-up blockers. It is mainly for these reasons that Firefox's popularity is gaining over that of Microsoft's IE. It will make your ISU research more convenient for you.

You can read an overview of Firefox's features by clicking on the Firefox link, which is found on the right side, under the Social Software heading.

When you are finished reading the overview, you can click on the Tabbed Browsing and Integrated Search links, found on the overview page, to learn more about these features.

NOTE ABOUT TABBED BROWSING: in order to use tabbed browsing, you must right-click on a link. This will cause a pop-up menu to appear. In the pop-up menu, select "Open Link in New Tab". You will then see a new tab at the top of your browser. See the picture below.
