Final Exam

Ok, ok, stop shouting, I'm finally here.

Remember that when I write that there are, for example, 3 questions of a particular type, that may mean that the question is broken down into 1a, 1b, 1c.

Good luck to all of you, and don't forget to say "hi" in the second semester when you pass by me in the hallway.

Ch 1: 7 questions, mainly matrices

Ch 2: 5 questions on mean, median, mode, etc

Ch 3: 5 questions

Ch 4: 4 questions on permutations

Ch 5: 4 on combinations, 3 on binomial expansion

are you sweating yet? :)

Ch 6: 9 on probability

Ch 7: 6 on probability distributions, 3 on E(X)

I have to go to bed now, as I have become sick again! I have the beginning of a cold.

Help for Your ISUs

I recommend reading these short pages in the order they are given below.

Essentials of a Google search.

Google cheat sheet to help with your searches.

Google Advanced Search.

The last 2 links should help you in reducing the number of useless returns on a search.

Microsoft's Live Search

You may be able to make a very forceful presentation with Gapminder. It's link is on the sidebar.

Read Doug Forrester's comments on what makes a good PowerPoint presentation. You may have to scroll down a bit.

On the sidebar you will also find a link to the APA Style Guide.

If you're having trouble deciding on a topic, try this site for ideas: Noodle Tools.

Recommended Download: Firefox Web Browser

The Firefox web browser is an excellent tool for doing internet research because of its "tabbed browsing", built-in search engines (e.g. Wikipedia, Google, and Dictionary.com), and pop-up blockers. It is mainly for these reasons that Firefox's popularity is gaining over that of Microsoft's IE. It will make your ISU research more convenient for you.

You can read an overview of Firefox's features by clicking on the Firefox link, which is found on the right side, under the Social Software heading.

When you are finished reading the overview, you can click on the Tabbed Browsing and Integrated Search links, found on the overview page, to learn more about these features.

NOTE ABOUT TABBED BROWSING: in order to use tabbed browsing, you must right-click on a link. This will cause a pop-up menu to appear. In the pop-up menu, select "Open Link in New Tab". You will then see a new tab at the top of your browser. See the picture below.
